City Reminds Newark, New Jersey Residents About Free Tax Assistance

NEWARK, N.J. (WUNF) — City of Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka, the Newark Municipal Council and Training NewarkWorks One Stop Center reminded residents that Newark’s five Volunteer Income Tax Assistance also known as VITA sites are providing free tax preparation services to low and moderate income Newark families who are earning $54,000 a year or less.

The Federal Income Tax filing deadline is Friday, April 15. The locations that you can go to are Newark City Hall, Newark Emergency Services for Families, Essex County College, B.R.I.C.K. Avon Academy, B.R.I.C.K. Peshine Academy and Newark Legacy Charter School.
