Mayor De Blasio Holds Presser at St. Mary’s Rec Center In The Bronx

NEW YORK, N.Y. (WUNF) — Mayor Bill De Blasio and other elected officials held a press conference to discuss New York City Parks and then the Mayor took off-topic questions from the media.

UNF News Reporter Kyle Mazza asked the Mayor if there is a law against homeless people sitting on a bench. The question came about because of an earlier presser on the front steps of City Hall by an activist group with a participant saying that she had been harassed by the New York City Police Department while she was sitting on a bench.

The woman said at the earlier City Hall presser to Kyle Mazza that there is no law against a citizen sitting on a bench, also saying that she did nothing wrong except sit on the bench.

The Mayor told Mazza: ‘There is no law against sitting on a bench’
