WBLS And WLIB Celebrate Black Music Month With The Color Purple At SOBs In New York

NEW YORK, N.Y. (WUNF) — On Monday, WBLS 107.5 FM and 1190 WLIB AM celebrated Black Music Month with an exclusive listener event, in partnership with the Tony Award-winning musical, The Color Purple at SOBs in New York.

WBLS’s Lenny Green and WLIB’s Erica Campbell, joined several radio contest winners for a live performance and Q&A session with Heather Headley, who stars in The Color Purple as Shug Avery.

Other notable events that I have covered include the Democratic National Convention in 2016 and the Visit of Pope Francis to New York, NY in 2015.
