31-year-old male shot and in critical condition after attempting to intervene and stop a robbery in Chicago, Illinois

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (UNF NEWS) – 31-year-old male shot and in critical condition after attempting to intervene and stop a robbery in Chicago, Illinois on May 17, 2024. At approximately 3:49 a.m., Friday morning outside of Estelle’s Cafe and Lounge on the 2000 block of W. North Ave., a 33-year-old female and a 35-year-old female were standing outside when two suspects pulled up in a vehicle and demanded their property at gunpoint. A 31-year-old male attempted to intervene and he was shot and sustained a gunshot wound to the torso. The suspects fled westbound on North Ave. in a Silver Sedan. The 31-year-old male who was shot is in critical condition.
