Mass Shooting In Paterson, New Jersey Wednesday Morning Kills Two, Injures Three

PATERSON, NEW JERSEY (UNF NEWS) – Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi announce that in Paterson, New Jersey, United States on July 5, 2023, at approximately 2:39 a.m., Wednesday, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Jersey Street and Oliver Street in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of a shots fired. Upon their arrival, officers located two victims with gunshot wounds, a 26-year-old male from Paterson and a 17-year-old male from Paterson. They were transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center where they were subsequently pronounced deceased. Two additional victims with gunshot wounds arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment, a 19-year-old male from Paterson and a 24-year-old male from Paterson. A fifth victim, a 19-year-old male from Paterson arrived at the Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound. This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
