BAYONNE, NEW JERSEY (UNF NEWS) – Police involved shooting in Bayonne on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Report of a theft from a gas station on 53rd Street near Avenue E. Responding officers located a person of interest at a parking lot in the area of Broadway and 54th Street. The male fled the scene in his vehicle, striking two police vehicles and an unoccupied civilian vehicle. One officer discharged his weapon. The male was located a short time later in the area of Linden Avenue and Scott Street in Jersey City with gunshot wounds. The male suspect was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he is currently in custody with injuries that are not considered life threatening at this time according to authorities.
