President of the United States Joe Biden will deliver remarks on ending the war in Afghanistan on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from the White House. President Joe Biden is facing criticism for not getting every American home from Afghanistan after he promised that every American who wanted to come home, that the U.S. would get them home. Many Americans are still in Afghanistan and are not able to travel out of Afghanistan. The United States completed the withdrawal of all of its troops from Afghanistan and the country has now been left in the control of the Taliban.

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken says that the United States will continue assisting with humanitarian assistance for the people of Afghanistan and that the U.S. expects that those acts “will not be impeded by the Taliban or anyone else.” There are restrictions coming into play now from the Federal Aviation Administration: The FAA is prohibiting flights from all routes but one that is high-altitude over the country. Any United States civil operator that wants to fly in or out of the country must get permission from the Federal Aviation Administration.
