QUEENS, NEW YORK (UNF NEWS) – Four family members were killed inside of a home and two police officers were injured after being stabbed in Queens, New York on December 3, 2023. One other person was also wounded inside of the residence. Police rushed to a Far Rockaway home at 5:10 a.m. after a young girl called 911 to say that her cousin was killing her family members according to the NYPD. Two officers engaged with a man later determined to be the suspect who was a family member of the victims in the driveway. Police said he was leaving the residence and carrying luggage when they stopped him to ask a few questions. After the police officers engaged in conversation for approximately 10 seconds, the suspect pulled a knife on the officers, stabbing one in the neck and striking the other police officer in the head. One officer pulled out a weapon and shot the suspect. The suspect was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead on arrival, police said. Authorities said more officers responded to the home and found an 11-year-old girl in front of the house and she did not survive her injuries. Police officers attempted to make entrance into the home to interact with the rest of the victims but they were prevented to enter because of a fire that had been lit allegedly by the suspect in the living room. The New York City Fire Department responded and put out the fire.
