QUEENS, NEW YORK (UNF NEWS) – The New York City Police Department says that they have arrested Devin Spraggins in connection with the shooting of a rookie NYPD officer.
Authorities found a gun in a residence when they arrested Spraggins, but do not yet know if it was used in this incident.
Devin Spraggins was arraigned Friday on charges of attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and obstructing governmental administration. If convicted, Devin Spraggins could receive 40 years to life in prison for each of the attempted murder charges.
The shooting occurred on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. 22-year-old NYPD Officer Brett Boller was shot in the hip. Boller is undergoing surgery at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. Boller is not expected to be released from the hospital for sometime but is expected to make a full recovery.
