COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA (UNF NEWS) – President of the United States Joe Biden delivered remarks on immigration, democracy and Former President of the United States Donald J. Trump at South Carolina’s First in the Nation Dinner at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds in Columbia, South Carolina on January 27, 2024. President Biden talked about the bipartisan deal on border security and said that he supports the framework and that he would shut down the border right now if the bill was a law. While the President spoke he was interrupted by pro-Palestinian protesters calling for President Biden to “stop the genocide in Gaza”. President Biden did not react to the protesters when they called for a ceasefire. President Biden talked about Former President Trump losing the 2020 election and called him a “defeated former president”. Biden said that the only loser he sees is Former President Trump and the crowd chanted “loser Trump”, repeatedly.

President Biden made a promise to the audience at the First in the Nation Dinner that he would restore Roe V. Wade as the law of the land.
