FAIR LAWN, NEW JERSEY (UNF NEWS) — On the evening of February 5th – a vehicle drove through the Green Dragon restaurant, which is located at 19-01 Fair Lawn Avenue in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Fair Lawn Police located a red Ford Escape which was driven by an 82-year-old female from Elmwood Park, New Jersey in the interior of the restaurant. The driver informed police officers on-scene that she was driving when her vehicle ‘took off on her’, jumped the curb, struck 2 bollards, and crashed through the front windows of the dining room which was occupied by customers and employees. A 41-year-old male customer and a 35-year-old male employee, both of Fair Lawn, were injured by flying debris. Injuries to the customer and employee were non-life threatening. The customer was transported to Valley Hospital in Ridgewood and the employee was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, both by Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance. The building sustained minor structural damage which the restaurant owner was able to address. The accident is still under investigation by police.
