HAVERSTRAW, NEW YORK (UNF NEWS) – On Sunday, February 26, 2023, at approximately 3 a.m., New York State Police from the Haverstraw barracks responded to a single vehicle crash on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Haverstraw, New York. The vehicle involved in the crash split into two. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2021 Hyundai was traveling northbound near exit 13, left the roadway and crashed into a tree. The operator of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition. The passenger in the vehicle, Chevy Thomas, 36-years-old, from Maybrook, New York was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident was cleared at around 10:30 a.m.
