Englewood Police Arrest Resident For Eluding, Obstruction And DUI Saturday

ENGLEWOOD, NEW JERSEY (UNF NEWS) – The Englewood Police Department answered a call regarding a driver that was parked who appeared to be asleep. Responding officers found 28-year-old Alpha Diallo, an Englewood resident, inside of a BMW sedan with license plates from the State of New York on West Englewood Avenue near the area of Humphrey Street on April 22, 2023 in the morning. Two officers tapped on the driver’s side window but were unsuccessful in waking Diallo. Once asleep, Diallo disregarded commands from the officers, drove the car and attempted to weave out of a parking spot, almost striking a police vehicle. Two Englewood police officers broke the driver’s side window and arrested him, receiving minor glass cuts. Two police officers went to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center for treatment of the cuts on their forearms and hands. Alpha Diallo was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on police, eluding, obstruction and DUI.
