CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (UNF NEWS) – Chicago police, Sunday morning, May 19, 2024 are investigating a vehicle crash where five people were injured and one person was killed in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday evening, May 18, 2024. At approximately 11:10 p.m., Saturday evening on the 3800 block of W. Harrison, a vehicle with five passengers was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Harrison when it disregarded a traffic signal and was struck on the drivers side by another vehicle and then struck a pole shortly thereafter. The driver that struck the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with police as they investigated the accident. All five passengers were taken to local area hospitals. A 14-year-old male sustained blunt force trauma to the head and body and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. A 14-year-old female sustained blunt force trauma to the head and body and was transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead. The other three individuals were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
