HACKENSACK, NEW JERSEY (UNF NEWS) – The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Hackensack Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred in the area of Clay Street and Second Street in Hackensack on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Hackensack Police Department responded to a report of shots fired. Responding officers found a 35-year-old male victim with a graze wound from gunfire, and a second victim, a 40-year-old male, who had already been transported to Hackensack University Medical Center by a private automobile moments after the shooting where he is being treated. An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer-in-Charge Captain Michael Antista. No other information is available at this time.
