BOWIE, MARYLAND (UNF NEWS) – Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris delivered remarks in Bowie, Maryland, United States on February 22, 2023. Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris delivered remarks at Bowie State University Theatre, Fine and Performing Arts Center in Bowie. Vice President Kamala Harris announced an action that will lower costs for homebuyers making home ownership more attainable. The Vice President’s announcement will save homebuyers and homeowners with new FHA-insured mortgages an average of $800 per year, lowering housing costs for an estimated 850,000 homeowners in 2023. Last March, the Vice President announced the release of the Property Appraisal and Valuation Equity (PAVE) Taskforce Action Plan, which outlined the Administration’s plans to root out racial bias in home valuations. The crowd cheered several times throughout the speech. Following the event, attendees spoke to Kyle Mazza of UNF News and said that they looked up to the Vice President and called her a role model for women and girls, and commented on her accolades and experience in government.
